Phytochemical Analyses of Medicinal Plants and Herbal Medicines
Phytochemical Analyses of Medicinal Plants and Herbal Medicines
Our expert fellows analyze plant extracts, essential oils and herbal medicines using GC-FID, GC-MS, HPLC and LC-MS methods. In addition, other physical constants such as optical rotation and refractive index of natural products may be determined for the pure compounds or essential oils. Quantitative and qualitative characterization of plant extracts may be performed both a) with our interpretation of the analytical results or b) Do-it-yourself, giving raw analytical data to the customers. Phytochemicals or active constituents of certain herbs, algae or other marine species may be purified upon request as a key-in-hand or outsourcing project. Please send us you proposal for consideration its feasibility.
Extraction of essential oils using hydro- and steam distillation in semi-industrial and industrial scales, GC-MS analyses report of the essential oils
When you need to prepare essential oil of a specific plant, we can extract it in laboratory (50-100 g) to semi-industrial (2-5 Kg) or industrial scale (200-500 Kg) and analyze its constituents by GC-MS for your R &D, for biological test or even for export documentation.
Extraction of plant extracts and their analyses using HPLC, LCMS, TLC and NMR spectroscopy
The plants, algae or marine organisms can be extracted with different solvents and using various methods such as percolator, maceration or Soxhlet, depending on the character of the natural constituents. The liquid extracts then can be dried using rotary evaporator in vacuum at low temperature or freeze drying to avoid thermal degradation of the phytochemicals. The extracts will be provided for the customers as gummy or powder material and we can also provide the fingerprint HPLC, GC chromatograms for each extract, or analyze their constituents’ using LCMS or GCMS. The finger print chromatogram using TLC is also affordable. For all of these services we need to have standard phytochemicals. In addition, we can semi-purify the plant extracts by liquid extraction or solid phase extraction. The purification of active constituents of a plant extract can be continued to reach to a certain degree of pure compound in an analytical or semi-industrial scale. The chemical structure of isolated compounds can be determined ultimately by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR).
Consultancy
In addition to outsourcing your project, we can advise you for the process of phytochemical analyses as a consulting project. You can consult with our researcher and technical staffs for a period of time to help you solve your phytochemistry analytical problems. Please kindly send us an inquiry indicating the subject you want to be guided by email.
